The Company
Globe 24-7, in partnership with a leading mining company, is seeking a Principal Project Planner to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project planning professional to lead the planning and scheduling function across a diverse portfolio of international mining projects. Working in a hybrid/remote environment, you will play a key role in supporting project development, execution, and investment decisions by delivering integrated project schedules, schedule risk analysis, and portfolio reporting from early-stage studies through to project execution.
The Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules across all project study phases, including PEA, PFS, and Feasibility Studies.
- Develop detailed, resource-loaded schedules in collaboration with study teams, engineering consultants, and project stakeholders, ensuring accurate scope sequencing and task interdependencies.
- Monitor schedule progress, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project objectives.
- Provide independent schedule oversight for projects in execution by reviewing contractor and project team schedules for logic, critical path integrity, float management, and resource adequacy.
- Ensure schedule quality, consistency, and governance across the project portfolio while reporting schedule performance against approved baselines.
- Perform critical path analysis, float analysis, schedule sensitivity assessments, and scenario planning to support project decision-making.
- Collaborate with project teams to support quantitative schedule risk analysis (QSRA) and provide schedule insights for stage-gate reviews and contingency planning.
- Develop and maintain planning standards, scheduling procedures, templates, and methodologies to promote consistency across all projects.
- Evaluate planning tools and systems while providing technical guidance to project teams, engineering consultants, and contractors on scheduling requirements.
- Integrate schedule information with cost, risk, and scope data to support portfolio reporting and overall project performance analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, process enhancements, and mentoring of project planners and scheduling professionals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
