Principal Public Health Engineer - London

We are now seeking a Principal Public Health Engineer to join our London office.
Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for the running of large projects
- Undertakes a client-facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc. (Several building types)
- Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
- Surveys, tests, carries out dilapidation reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations
- Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
- Day-to-day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with and provides advice to client
- Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors teams
- Ensures engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards
- Leads on the coordination of engineering services
- Takes a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions

Role Requirements
- MSc/BEng Qualified or have sufficient equivalent experience in the field of Public Health design
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience with strong expertise in Public Health Engineering (water services, gas, above ground drainage and sanitation systems, rainwater disposal system design and fire suppression installations
- Knowledge and experience of sustainable design including solar hot water systems, rainwater/grey water recycling innovations
- Experience across mission critical/ data centre (highly desirable), commercial and mixed-use developments
- Proven track record, working for large international consulting organisation within the UK or overseas, on major design projects
- Working knowledge of core technical guidance published by CIBSE, British Standards, ISO, BSRIA, HSE, and CIPHE
- Competence in fire protection design is essential and experience with international standards such as EN, VdS, NFPA, and FM highly desirable
- Good knowledge of current standards and design codes essential
- Good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, NAVIS
- Advantageous to have a good knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT but not essential
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with architects and fellow designers
- Confident to work independently as PH discipline lead driving project deliverables forward and capable of managing junior members of staff
- Highly motivated with the drive to take on new challenges
- Effective organisation, attention to detail, and leadership capability
- Ability to review and validate PH and Sprinkler technical design outputs
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Confident delivering complex projects and advising stakeholders
- Good understanding of British and European Standards/UK Regulations/Codes
- Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy
