Principal QA Engineer - Salesforce

The opportunity
Robert Walters is looking for a hands-on Principal QA Engineer to join our Workforce Consultancy programme on a permanent basis. As a permanent member of the programme, you will work on assignments with our blue-chip clients. We partner with more than 50 organisations across the UK, predominantly within Financial Services and Insurance, as well as other industries.
Your initial assignment will be within an Asset Management Technology team, supporting the delivery and enhancement of a business-critical Salesforce platform. You will provide hands-on testing expertise across the full delivery lifecycle while supporting the Test Manager with planning, defect management, reporting and business UAT.
What you'll do
- Test Salesforce functionality, integrations, data flows and end-to-end business processes.
- Create and execute functional, integration, regression and UAT test cases.
- Support test planning, preparation, execution tracking, defect triage and quality reporting.
- Coordinate UAT with business stakeholders, including script preparation, execution support and progress updates.
- Review user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows to ensure requirements are clear and testable.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, Salesforce specialists and business users.
- Identify quality risks early and provide clear, concise updates to project stakeholders.

What you'll bring
- Strong hands-on experience in functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
- Experience working within complex project or business-change environments.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or another CRM/platform implementation.
- An understanding of Salesforce configurations, workflows, permissions, integrations, data quality and user journeys.
- Strong knowledge of risk-based testing, defect management and established QA methodologies.
- Experience coordinating or supporting business UAT.
- The ability to translate user stories, acceptance criteria and business requirements into effective test scenarios.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Desirable experience
- Testing Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud or related products.
- Testing integrations with downstream systems, data services, reporting tools or third-party applications.
- Using test-management and defect-tracking tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Understanding how test automation can strengthen regression coverage for Salesforce and web applications.
