Principal Radio Engineer (Technical Authority) | Communications Engineering & Managed Services | Somerset
Are you a senior communications engineer with design authority experience who wants to work on one of the UK's most strategically significant infrastructure projects? A specialist communications engineering business is hiring a Principal Radio Engineer to act as its designated Technical Authority at a major nuclear infrastructure site in Somerset.

Responsibilities
- Act as the designated Technical Authority for all engineering activities within formally delegated authority
- Review, approve and sign off HLDs, LLDs, drawings, technical specifications and configuration information
- Own or approve test and acceptance strategies for systems and conduct preventative maintenance inspections.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for complex, recurring or high-impact faults.
- Carry out preventative maintenance inspections and technical audits, and protect approved technical baselines and configuration integrity

Skills Required
- Strong wireless engineering experience, such as DMR Tier III, RF over Fibre or DAS
- Demonstrable design authority experience, for example technical approval, independent design review or HLD/LLD sign-off and system acceptance
- Full UK driving licence and ability to meet nuclear site access requirements
