Principal Recruitment Consultant
Food, Ingredients & Consumer Markets
Remote (UK)
£45,000-£55,000 + Tiered Quarterly Commission up to 35%
If you've built a successful desk within food, ingredients or consumer recruitment and are looking for an environment where specialist expertise is genuinely valued, this could be worth a conversation.
I'm working with a well-established specialist recruitment business that partners with food manufacturers, ingredients businesses, consumer brands and private equity-backed organisations across the UK and internationally.
They're looking to appoint an experienced recruiter who enjoys becoming a genuine market specialist, developing long-term client relationships and building a desk with a long-term view rather than chasing short-term wins.
Rather than recruiting for headcount, they're looking for someone who'll strengthen an already experienced team. You'll have the freedom to develop your own specialist market while working alongside recruiters who understand the value of credibility, consistency and doing the job properly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
