Principal Recruitment Consultant – High Billing Desk
Leeds city centre | Competitive basic salary DOE + commission up to 40%
Are you an established recruiter billing at least £150k a year and looking for a business where your performance will be rewarded?
Permanent People is working with a growing specialist recruitment firm in central Leeds. The team recruits across engineering and technology markets, including data centres, AI, water, chemicals and blockchain. They’re looking to add up to three experienced recruiters to a team that already includes several strong principal billers.
Your recruitment sector doesn’t need to match theirs. What matters is a proven billing record, commercial drive and the ability to build strong relationships.
There are two ways to make the role your own: focus on delivering vacancies the business already has, or run a full 360 desk with support from the leadership team. There’s also scope to develop and manage junior recruiters as the team grows.

A particular opportunity in data centres
The business is also keen to speak with an experienced recruiter who could build its data centre desk and lead a team of junior resourcers. This opportunity offers a route into leadership and equity discussions, alongside 40% commission and an annual bonus equivalent to 5% of total billings on the data centre desk. You would work with senior colleagues who have each achieved billings of around £400k.

What you’ll bring
- A personal billing record of at least £150k annually; £200k+ would be particularly attractive
- Strong experience in agency recruitment
- The confidence to own your desk and deliver consistently
- An interest in developing others as the business grows
This is primarily an office-based role. The team offers flexibility around hours, particularly for recruiters working international markets. Limited home working may be considered once you’ve established yourself in the business.
