Are you the scientific leader who can bridge cutting-edge cardiac models with real-world drug discovery decisions?

Have you built electrophysiology strategies, led multidisciplinary teams, and remained close enough to the science to stay credible at the bench?

Can you translate complex cardiac safety and ion channel data into clear programme direction for clients and stakeholders?

If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We are seeking an exceptional scientific leader to drive and shape our cardiac electrophysiology and translational ion channel strategy.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced electrophysiologist to combine strategic leadership with scientific innovation, leading multiple drug discovery programmes while maintaining a meaningful presence in the laboratory.

You'll be recognised internally and externally as a subject matter expert in cardiac electrophysiology, helping clients solve complex translational challenges through the application of advanced in vitro and ex vivo models, automated electrophysiology platforms, and stem cell-derived cardiac systems.

The Opportunity

You will provide scientific and strategic leadership across our translational cardiac electrophysiology capability.

  • Working closely with clients, senior leaders, and multidisciplinary project teams, you will lead programmes from target validation through translational assessment, ensuring delivery of high-quality data that informs critical drug discovery decisions.
  • You'll play a key role in expanding our cardiac electrophysiology offering, driving innovation, mentoring scientists, and helping shape the future direction of the department.

What You'll Be Doing

Scientific Leadership

  • Lead and execute the scientific strategy for cardiac electrophysiology and translational ion channel research.
  • Act as the scientific lead across multiple integrated drug discovery programmes.
  • Interpret and integrate in vitro, ex vivo and translational data to guide project progression.
  • Drive innovation in cardiac safety and translational biology approaches.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging scientific advances and implement new technologies where appropriate.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for electrophysiology platforms including Qube and MEA systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
