Principal SDET - £80,000 - London (Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office)

La Fosse has partnered with a financial services organisation, currently delivering a significant business and technology transformation programme. As part of this journey, they are seeking an experienced Principal SDET to lead the evolution of their quality engineering capability, driving automation, improving engineering standards, and embedding quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

This is a senior technical leadership role suited to an experienced Principal SDET, Lead SDET, or Automation Test Architect who can define quality strategy while remaining hands-on with test automation, tooling, and engineering best practices. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to drive a modern quality-first culture and ensure scalable, reliable testing solutions across a complex technology landscape.

Key Requirements

  • Strong experience designing and implementing automation strategies across complex delivery environments.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks using C#, Playwright, Selenium, or similar technologies.
  • Proven ability to define quality engineering standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong CRM testing experience, ideally within CRM transformation programmes.
  • Solid understanding of API testing, service integrations, and distributed systems.
  • Experience implementing automated testing across UI, API, and integration layers.
  • Strong understanding of defect management, root cause analysis, and quality metrics.
  • Knowledge of NFT, OAT, and supporting UAT activities within enterprise environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience introducing AI-assisted testing tools or leveraging AI within the software delivery lifecycle is desirable.
