We're currently working with a leading Formula 1 team on a Principal Information Security Engineer opportunity within their Enterprise Technology function.
This is a high-impact, hands-on security leadership role, replacing the current Head of Information Security. You’ll provide technical direction to a small team while remaining heavily involved in the engineering and operational detail.
The Role
You’ll have ownership across the organisation’s cyber defence capability, including:
- Lead security operations, monitoring and incident response
- Own and optimise the security tooling stack
- Configure, tune and integrate security technologies
- Improve detection and reduce false positives
- Identify attack paths and strengthen controls
- Apply attacker TTPs to improve defensive capability
- Provide pragmatic security advice to the wider business
- Lead and mentor two Security Engineers
- Manage MSSPs, vendors and third-party relationships
- Drive continuous security improvements
- Protect both factory and trackside environments

The technology stack is tool-agnostic. Strong security fundamentals matter more than specific vendor experience.
Experience across:
- EDR / Endpoint Security
- CSPM / SSPM
- PAM
- Vulnerability Management
- Identity & Email Security
- Security Operations & Incident Response
- Threat Detection
- Attacker TTPs
CrowdStrike is beneficial but not essential.
SOAR, scripting, automation and MSSP experience are also advantageous.

Package:
- Up to £100,000 base (depending on experience)

Location: Northampton Area
Working pattern: Minimum 3 days onsite per week
The onsite requirement is important, and candidates must be comfortable working from the HQ at least three days per week.
