Role Description

This full-time Principal / Senior Hydrogeologist Consultant role, working 37.5 hours a week, is based in Atherstone, Warwickshire with a hybrid working arrangement, combining office presence with some work from home.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise to work on a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects across the minerals, waste, and environmental sectors.

We are looking for analytical, detail-oriented individuals with a proactive mindset and a positive, adaptable attitude. If you enjoy solving complex hydrogeological challenges, working in a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive working environment, and taking ownership of technically demanding projects, then this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical support across a wide range of hydrogeological and geological services
  • Contribute to all stages of project delivery
  • Prepare desk-based studies, technical reports, and quantitative risk assessments
  • Develop hydrogeological models and remediation strategies
  • Supervise site investigations and provide technical oversight of contractors and field teams
  • Liaise effectively with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes

Skills and Experience

We are keen to hear from Hydrogeologists / Geologists with:

  • A strong technical knowledge of hydrogeology, geology, and environmental assessment
  • Proven experience in groundwater assessment projects
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills
  • A good knowledge of relevant environmental legislation
  • Proficiency in hydrogeological modelling software
  • Confidence in supervising office and field-based activities
  • Computer literacy and adaptability to new technologies
  • Previous project management experience would be advantageous

Qualifications & Professional Background

  • Degree (preferably MSc) in Geology or Hydrogeology-related subject
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., Geological Society)
  • Full UK driving licence
