Principal / Senior Java Developer – Elite FinTech

Rate: Up to £750 per day
Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Contract: Contract

The Opportunity

They are looking for an exceptional Principal / Senior Java Developer to join a high-calibre engineering environment, working alongside some of the industry's strongest developers, architects, and technical leaders.

You will be expected to:

  • Design and develop high-performance server-side Java applications
  • Work across both greenfield and complex brownfield environments
  • Take ownership of significant technical challenges and drive solutions through to completion
  • Collaborate with highly experienced engineers, architects, and product specialists
  • Translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Work effectively within fast-moving, ambiguous environments
  • Contribute to architectural and technical decision-making
  • Optimise systems for scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Mentor and support other engineers where appropriate
  • Engage directly with stakeholders and contribute to delivering business-critical technology

Essential:

  • Strong commercial experience with Java
  • Extensive experience developing server-side Java applications
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience working on complex, high-scale systems
  • Strong understanding of application architecture and design
  • Linux experience

Post-trade experience is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have worked on systems supporting areas such as:

  • Trade capture and processing
  • Trade lifecycle management
  • Confirmation and settlement
