Principal/ Senior Software Engineering
Location: London
Working: Remote
Salary: £100K - £120K
About the Company
We’re working with an innovative, fast-growing FinTech that is transforming the mortgage industry through technology and AI. The business is on a mission to make borrowing more accessible while helping mortgage brokers navigate complex affordability and risk challenges through smarter technology. Following significant growth, the company increased its annual lending volumes by over 80% to approximately £350m in 2025 and is continuing to invest heavily in its technology and AI capabilities.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to help shape and build the next generation of a modern lending platform. This is not a traditional management position. You’ll remain deeply involved in designing, building, testing and reviewing production software, while also helping shape the architecture, technical roadmap and engineering standards. AI is at the heart of the role. You’ll work hands-on with LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows and AI-enabled services, taking ideas from rapid experimentation through to secure, reliable production systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
