Principal Software Engineer
A global FinTech organisation is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to bring senior technical expertise across multiple engineering teams, with C# and.NET at the core.
You’ll be part of a small, highly skilled central team, working across the wider engineering function to tackle complex problems, influence technical decisions and help teams deliver.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You’ll shape architecture, write code and get involved where your experience adds the most value. Your involvement could range from a quick intervention to several months embedded with a delivery team. You’ll also take ownership of a handful of projects from the central team.
This is a chance to work across the technology estate, rather than being tied to a single product. You’ll see different teams, architectures and challenges while remaining close to the code and having genuine technical influence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
