The Applied Innovation Exchange brings together a team of consultants, designers, technologists, and researchers, to help some of the world's largest organisations move from challenging problem statements to innovative real-world solutions, and we'd love to hear from you!
We're a team that is harnessing AI to make speech therapy more accessible, building digital experiences to raise money for vulnerable children with Action for Children, building a retail store of tomorrow in Shoreditch, London, and much more.
Hybrid working
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).
Your role
- Engage as a technical expert during innovation discovery engagements - working with innovation consultants, UX/UI designers, and fellow engineers to contribute inspiration and advisory on emerging technologies to help shape opportunities and solutions.
- Take up the role of a technical lead on innovation projects - working with our team, wider Capgemini experts, and our clients to deliver high-quality innovative solutions from proof of value to pilot.
- Transform uncertainty into certainty, finding creative ways to apply emerging technology to drive business value and user delight - creating cutting-edge solutions that scale and drive meaningful impact.
- Balance speed and quality, with a focus on outcomes, and a comfort working at pace.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
