Principal Engineer (.NET / Azure)
Leading Consumer Technology Organisation
Location: London
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
One of our clients, a large-scale consumer technology business, is looking for a Principal Engineer to help shape engineering strategy and lead the development of highly scalable cloud platforms used by millions of customers.
This is a senior technical leadership role focused on architecture, engineering excellence, platform modernisation, AI adoption, and mentoring engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Define engineering standards, best practices, and technical strategy
- Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native, distributed systems
- Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and senior stakeholders
- Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, AI, and automation
- Champion secure-by-design principles and engineering governance
- Improve delivery through CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering
- Implement observability, monitoring, logging, and reliability frameworks

Key Skills:
- Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework, and Microservices
- Deep knowledge of Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, MongoDB, and Terraform
- Experience building scalable, high-availability distributed systems
- Strong understanding of software architecture and cloud-native engineering
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
- Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and site reliability practices
- Practical experience using AI and Generative AI tools within engineering environments
