The role: AWS Principal Platform Engineer – Kubernetes | Terraform | Multi-Cloud
Who: Appvia.io - Cloud, Platform & Software Engineering Consultancy
Contract: Permanent / Full-time
Salary: £90k to £120k basic + 10% bonus + 10% shares, and excellent benefits
Location: London (hybrid working - approximately 1 day per week in office / on client site)
Please note:
This role requires 100% UK work eligibility as an absolute requirement (British passport, ILR only). No sponsorship, no relocation can be considered, due to full SC Security Clearance eligibility being required.
About you:
You're a senior technical leader: equally comfortable shaping cloud strategy with an enterprise client's CTO as you are getting hands-on with your engineering team. You lead from the front, you mentor from experience, and you've delivered large, complex cloud programmes in client-facing consultancy environments.

You'll bring:
- Expert AWS platform engineering: designing, building and operating at scale across complex enterprise environments
- Multi-cloud awareness: AWS primary, Azure and GCP alongside it
- Terraform / IaC: mastery level, not just competency
- Kubernetes / EKS: in-depth, hands-on, production-scale
- CI/CD and DevOps: you set the standard, you don't just follow it
- Enterprise client engagement: you've managed relationships, defined strategy, and delivered outcomes at senior level
- Team leadership and mentoring: you build teams up, not just deliver through them
- Pre-sales and bid work: you've contributed to proposals and supported commercial conversations
