Join the Close Brothers Commercial Finance Team where you will lead high profile, high complexity technology deliveries in line with industry best practice.
Working as part of the Engineering team our ideal team member will have previous experience in being at the forefront of technical discussions with stakeholders and being relied upon to bring in new ideas and elegant solutions that deliver against both business and technology strategies with excellent people skills.
Responsibilities
- Plans and drives systems development projects which support the organisation's objectives and plans.
- Specifies and designs large or complex software applications, components and modules.
- Takes technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of software development.
- Plans and drives activities to develop organisational systems integration and build capabilities including automation and continuous integration.
- Designs test cases and test scripts under own direction, mapping back to pre-determined criteria, recording and reporting test outcomes.
- Applies standard data modelling and design techniques based upon a detailed understanding of requirements.
- Evaluates design options and prototypes to obtain user feedback on requirements of developing systems, products, services or devices.
- Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

Developing Our People
As a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/CAN
- Strong Python development experience, specifically in cloud-native applications with Azure Functions or AWS Lambda.
- Strong appreciation of authentication, authorisation and secure integration patterns including OAuth2, OIDC, TLS, Mutual TLS (mTLS), certificates and identity federation.
- Experience with cloud-native development patterns including serverless, containerisation and managed services e.g. APIM, Cloud Storage (or AWS equivalents).
- Partner with Product Owners, Architects, Delivery Managers and business stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.
- Convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide mentoring and leadership to engineers.

- Worked with CI/CD and Automation, using GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- An understanding of IBM ACE and API Connect.
