Principal Software Engineer - National Security
And as the challenges evolve, so do we - working on the technologies that will shape tomorrow, not just today. A UK Engineering & Technology consultancy working at the heart of the UK's National Security, Defence and Critical Infrastructure.
We partner closely with the UK Government & Security organisations to solve complex, real-world problem - from intelligence and cyber security to systems engineering and advanced analytics. Much of our work is sensitive, high-impact and genuinely mission-driven.
Technical Skills
- AWS architecture (intermediate)
- Data engineering architectures and patterns (intermediate/advanced)
- Large scale streaming analytics experience (intermediate)
- Big data architectures and technology (intermediate)

- AWS specifics - EKS, Lambda, IAM, S3, VPC, CloudWatch (intermediate)

Domain Knowledge
- Event processing (intermediate)
- Event analytics
- Compliance (intermediate)
- High to low experience (technology and practices).
Soft Skills
- Ability to work unsupported high-side in a high-profile, fast-paced, large scale, cross-supplier environment.
- Happy to work with significant levels of uncertainty and communicate the reasons for frequent change to multiple stakeholders.
- Communicate and influence at all levels from engineer up to customer director level.
- Technical team leadership skills.
- Proxy product ownership skills.
Although you will be leading a team of talented engineers, you will need to be able to context-switch between high-level customer meetings and low-level hands-on engineering activities, unsupported by your team when required at short notice (for example if failures are observed in a high side running system requiring patching or to working with high-side only code).

Where you’ll work…
Gloucester - You’ll find our Gloucester site in a business park two minutes from junction 11A of the M5; The site allows easy access to our local customer base. Set on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, you are never far from a picturesque view or lunch time walk.
Clearances…
Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be hold the highest level of UK Government Clearance.
