Role Description
The Principal Solicitor will lead legal operations, provide expert legal advice, and oversee case management across key practice areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Supervising solicitors and support staff
- Managing a personal caseload
- Reviewing complex matters
- Ensuring legal work meets regulatory and professional standards

The role involves direct client contact, negotiating on clients’ behalf, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and representing clients in appropriate forums. The Principal Solicitor will also contribute to business development, support practice strategy, and maintain strong relationships with external partners and regulatory bodies.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Rochdale, with regular in-office presence and some flexibility for work from home. The firm’s principal areas of practice currently include residential and some commercial conveyancing, wills, probate and estate planning, providing clients with trusted legal advice and practical support through some of life’s most important transitions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret and apply legal principles across multiple practice areas.
- Experience in Conveyancing, including residential and commercial property transactions and related documentation.
- Background in Commercial Real Estate, handling leases, acquisitions, disposals, and property-related commercial agreements is a bonus.
- Knowledge of Family Law, including divorce, separation, child arrangements, and financial settlements.
- Qualified Solicitor with active practicing certificate and significant post-qualification experience, ideally in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, mentor junior staff, and oversee complex caseloads with attention to detail and service quality.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills, with a commitment to ethical and inclusive practice.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, comfortable working in a hybrid environment with modern case management systems.
