Role Overview
We are hiring a Principal Solution Architect to lead the KX Services technical delivery function, including architects, developers and DevOps. As a member of the KX Services Leadership Team, you will be accountable for the function's people, technical direction, engineering practices and contribution to customer outcomes.
You will bring deep credibility in q/kdb+ and use that foundation to lead its evolution into KDB-X across KX Services. Working directly with customer executives and senior technical stakeholders, you will ensure our technical delivery supports successful adoption, measurable customer outcomes and lasting customer trust.
A major part of the role is to take the existing KX Services AI delivery strategy from early adoption to a mature, repeatable AI-led development and deployment practice. You will turn successful experiments into standard ways of working, reusable assets and responsible deployment patterns that improve productivity, quality and reuse.
This is a management and leadership role. You will lead through people managers, Team Leads and senior technical professionals while remaining sufficiently hands-on to guide complex engagements, resolve critical issues and set the technical standard for the wider function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
