About The Role
TV plays a critical role supporting our consumer broadband services, giving customers more reasons to join and to remain with BT and EE for their home connectivity, and more. The TV Technology team, in our Networks business unit, build and deliver the innovative capabilities of our EE TV and BT TV services, including our devices (including Set Top Boxes), apps, and on-demand and live TV delivery over BT’s brilliant fibre broadband network, and beyond.
This senior role is part of the TV leadership team and brings a breadth of experience and understanding that ensures we use technology effectively to support our TV ambitions; delivering experiences that delight our customers, with business benefits that support BT’s future growth. You will complement the brilliant expertise in our platform, content distribution, device, and client teams, with your innovative, future-thinking approach that is rooted in your deep experience of delivering brilliant customer experiences of video content at scale over the internet or broadband networks – to enable us to offer our TV customers the broadest choice of content, and the most compelling experiences to discover and engage with it.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the design and delivery of end to end solution architecture for our TV services, with broad subject matter expertise in OTT/IPTV video, to ensure scalable, secure, reliable and business-aligned outcomes.
- Partner with product, engineering, and operational stakeholders to help translate business needs into clear architectural approaches, identifying risks, dependencies, trade offs and ensuring successful delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and thought leadership across the organisation, influencing stakeholders and shaping the long term direction of our IPTV architecture and emerging capabilities.
- Lead and contribute to complex, cross organisational initiatives, ensuring architecture supports BT’s commercial objectives, innovation agenda and transformation goals.
- Define and evolve architecture standards, patterns and roadmaps for TV through collaboration with other architects and experts, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture guardrails, regulatory requirements and long term strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement in architecture practices, delivery approaches and tooling, including adoption of modern cloud native, DevOps and platform evolution techniques.
- Mentor and coach architects and engineers, building capability, consistency and knowledge sharing across the community, while acting as a design authority for key decisions.
- Enable innovation through prototyping, experimentation and external engagement, ensuring BT remains competitive in an evolving TV ecosystem (including aggregation, AI, new service models and more).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
