Principal Architect – Identity & SecOps
Location: UK | Remote-first
Function: Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity
Trustmarque Ultima is looking for an experienced Principal Architect – Identity & SecOps to join our growing Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity (SCI) Practice.
This is a senior technical leadership role where you’ll act as the technical authority and solution visionary for our Identity & SecOps capability, helping shape our technical strategy, solution standards and approach to complex customer engagements.
You’ll work across Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Identity Governance, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR, providing architectural leadership across client engagements while helping develop the next generation of our security capability.
What you’ll be doing
- Define and maintain the technical roadmap for Identity & SecOps, aligned to the Microsoft security roadmap.
- Act as the design authority for complex and high-impact customer engagements.
- Establish solution design standards, reference architectures and reusable delivery assets.
- Lead technical discussions, customer workshops and complex pre-sales engagements.
- Help develop new go-to-market offerings, accelerators and intellectual property.
- Strengthen our Microsoft partnership and support co-sell and partner opportunity activity.
- Mentor and coach Solution Architects and Consultants, helping raise technical capability across the Practice.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point throughout delivery.
- Identify opportunities to integrate Identity & SecOps with wider Microsoft security capabilities.

What we’re looking for
You’ll bring strong, hands-on architectural expertise across the Microsoft security ecosystem, alongside the credibility to operate with senior customers and technical stakeholders.
Essential:
- Strong experience across Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, Identity Governance and PIM.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR.
- Experience acting as a design authority or technical lead on complex, multi-stakeholder Microsoft security engagements.
- Strong pre-sales experience, including leading customer workshops and shaping technical solutions.
- Experience mentoring or coaching architects and consultants.
- Confidence representing Microsoft Security externally through events, webinars or thought leadership.
- Current or recent relevant Microsoft certifications, such as SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-400 or SC-500.

- CISSP, CISM, CRISC or CCSP certification.
- Experience working with regulated, public sector or corporate customers.
- Consulting or systems integrator experience.
- Experience with Microsoft partner funding programmes and/or co-sell motions.

You’ll be one of the first Principal Architects helping establish our specialist vertical model, meaning you’ll have genuine influence over how we operate, the solutions we develop and the technical standards we set.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape our Identity & SecOps strategy, develop reusable intellectual property, influence our Microsoft partnership and help build the technical capability of the wider team.
