Principal Solutions Consultant & Advisory Lead

Cloud & AI

£100,000 – 120,000 basic + benefits

UK-based, predominantly remote with travel to client sites as and when

Your new organisation

This is a well-established, growing technology consultancy that's built a genuinely strong reputation with the enterprise clients it works alongside — not through scale for its own sake, but through consistently being the trusted pair of hands clients come back to.

It's a business that invests properly in its senior technical people, gives them real autonomy with strategic accounts, and backs them to operate credibly at boardroom level. The culture is collaborative rather than siloed… technical leaders, delivery teams and commercial leadership all work closely together rather than staying in their lanes.

Your new challenge

You'll own the technical relationship for a portfolio of strategic accounts, acting as the client's trusted advisor on technology strategy and roadmap, often operating at CxO level with client CIOs and CTOs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a senior, client-facing leadership role rather than hands-on engineering — you'll set direction and provide technical credibility, while working closely with architects and delivery leads who execute.

Expect a genuine mix of:

  • Building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Translating client business objectives into coherent technology strategy across cloud, data, AI and applications.
  • Supporting sales and account leadership on cross-sell, upsell and complex bids.
  • Acting as the escalation point for technical risk across delivery and managed service.
  • Running roadmap and innovation sessions with client stakeholders.
  • Contributing to thought leadership, events and marketing activity.

About you

You'll have senior technical leadership experience as either Enterprise Architect, Technical Director, CTO or equivalent, ideally gained within IT services, consulting or a managed services environment.

Some other things you'll bring:

  • Strong working knowledge of major cloud (Azure or GCP) and AI platforms, and the credibility to speak to CIOs on cloud, data and AI strategy.
  • A track record of building trusted client relationships and turning technical capability into commercial outcomes.
  • Comfort supporting or shaping bids and proposals in a pre-sales-adjacent capacity.
  • The gravitas to operate as an escalation point and a calm head when things get technically or commercially tricky.
