The Principal Solution Consultant - AI
The Principal Solution Consultant - AI drives strategic sales by evangelizing Workiva’s AI capabilities and governed platform. This role supports multiple complex pursuits, demonstrating how customers can leverage AI for regulated reporting through tailored presentations and value-based messaging. You will define Workiva’s strategic position within each organization’s evolving AI and data landscape. This high-impact role requires deep technical expertise and executive presence.
You will engage architects, AI/ML leads, and C-level executives to define Workiva’s role in their AI infrastructure, focusing on data governance, integration, and model orchestration. By positioning Workiva as the system of trust for machine-generated financial, sustainability, and risk data, you will ensure outputs are controlled, reviewed, and defensible. You will partner closely with internal teams—including Sales, Product, and InfoSec—to articulate why a governed core is essential.
What You’ll Do
- Drive AI Strategy & Mentorship: Lead the AI technical agenda across pursuits, serving as the senior technical voice from engagement through deal closure. Develop reusable IP (patterns, talk tracks, design guidance) and mentor fellow Solution Consultants to elevate AI fluency across the organization.
- Cross-Functional Discovery & Engagement: Lead technical discovery and alignment across both business functions (Finance, GRC, Sustainability) and IT/Security teams to map customer AI programs, identify where the governed core fits, and ensure safe, compliant integration.
- Deliver Tailored Demonstrations & Architecture: Prepare high-impact technical demonstrations and produce customer AI reference architectures that clearly show how our API-first platform integrates into their ecosystem to deliver defensible, production-ready outputs.
- Shape Product Direction: Proactively share field insights with product, engineering, and leadership teams to foster cross-functional alignment and influence the AI roadmap.
- Represent Workiva in the Market: Engage customers and partners as a public technical voice for Workiva’s AI posture through industry events, thought leadership, and executive briefings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
