Principal Solutions Engineer, Strategic (Atlassian)

Atlassian is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer, Strategic to join its team.


Responsibilities

Working alongside Atlassian’s Solutions Engineering Team, composed of professionals from pre-sales, consulting, and engineering backgrounds, this role partners with the Enterprise Sales Team and Channel Partners to:

  • Assess customer challenges, align with Atlassian’s offerings, and identify opportunities for expansion across products and solutions.
  • Drive cross-product and strategic sales cycles, offering value-based demonstrations and Proofs of Value (PoV) to maximise customer potential.

Key Tasks Include:

  • Customer Discovery & Challenge Assessment

    • Conduct deep-dive interviews to uncover technical, business, and expansion needs.
    • Align solutions with Atlassian’s product roadmap for tailored engagement.
  • Customer Engagement & Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Leadership

    • Design and deliver highly tailored, impactful product demonstrations addressing objections and articulating business value.
    • Develop PoC environments, coach users, and lead interactive workshops showcasing workflows and hands-on solutions.
    • Apply storytelling techniques to align Atlassian’s offerings with the customer’s vision of success.

  • Strategic Competency & Continuous Learning

    • Stay updated with Atlassian’s roadmap and certifications, refining expertise in pre-sales, product offerings and competitive positioning.
    • Regularly align solutions with enterprise sales cycles, ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work with internal stakeholders—including Account Managers, Product Teams, and Partners—to drive transformation deals and growth opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Senior Business Executives to frame solutions as strategic aligners of business goals.
  • Innovative Engagement Techniques

    • Experiment with creative approaches (e.g., gamification, audience participation) to boost engagement.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluent in English (professional level required)
  • Preference for proficiency in at least one EU language

Your Background

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in Strategic Sales Engineering, with experience managing enterprise-level, high-value client relationships.
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders, from operational teams to executive leadership, and tailoring messaging accordingly.
  • Ability to proactively collaborate and problem-solve, driving outcomes within a vibrant, team-focused environment.
  • Exceptional communicative skills, both in verbal, written, and presentation formats, coupled with the ability to build long-lasting client relationships.
  • Keen problem-solver and passion for technology, with a dedication to knowledge-sharing (e.g., mentoring, authoring educational content).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline (MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus).
  • Occasional travel readiness due to hybrid customer engagement (virtual and on-site).
