Your role at a glance
Reporting to the Director of GDC Global Network Design, the Principal Specialist, Network Design is responsible for the centralized ownership, harmonization, and end to end service delivery of Network Reference Designs for the EMEA region, in alignment with Global Reference Design (GRD) standards. This role oversees the development of foundational communications infrastructure architectural documentation supporting EMEA GDC new construction projects. The position requires close coordination with NTT design and construction managers, sales and commercial teams, client fit out groups, and external consultants to leverage subject matter expertise across the GDC organization. The role ensures that local, regional, and global codes and standards are consistently applied to design and design specifications, while minimizing lead times and costs and delivering a high quality client experience.
This hybrid role offers flexibility of remote working, combined with occasional onsite visits to EMEA data center locations and travel of up to 35%.
What we are looking for
What will you do
- Accountability to Snr Manager of GDC Networks Design for network design projects across EMEA in line with GRD, OPR and design standards
- Undertake network due diligence for new GDC sites, defining providers and budget
- Oversee and manage the provisioning of telecommunications services for EMEA new site services, modifications, and upgrades, ensuring
- Ensure builds meet product, IT & client and regulatory requirements across EMEA
- Develop and refine documentation, policies, procedures, and methodologies in alignment with the service ownership blueprint
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across GDC to proactively evolve site infrastructure, aiming for cost and lead-time reduction and client service improvement
- Define specifications for products and services utilized by NTT GDC for structured cabling and passive infrastructure, CAR, IT Room, MUA, POE, MMR, duct and tray
- Utilize Visio, Bluebeam, or Bim360 models to produce infrastructure design and build plans
- Identify, harmonize, and centralize all as-built documentation in collaboration with the wider GDC team
- Plan, organize, supervise, and direct IT Infrastructure projects and activities in EMEA

What are we looking for
- Completed technical studies or training as IT specialist with focus on passive network connectivity and system integration or comparable qualification
- Possesses a minimum of 6 years of management and hands-on experience, along with extensive knowledge in the data center or telecommunications passive infrastructure environment
- Design, installation, and Commissioning of passive assets (duct, fibre, CAR, CMMR, and structured cabling)
- Proficient in the use of Visio, AutoCad, CRM or other design platforms
- Management and budget experience
- Ability to combine business requirements and best practices to architect an infrastructure solution that supports a cost effective, resilient design
- Motivational and inspirational leaders with superior Decision-making skills and assertiveness
- Planning and project management concepts, establish, organize and run meetings and working groups
- Ability to take comprehensive notes and communicate projects, tasks and status to teams and management both written and verbally
- Developing and executing strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
