Job Description

We are looking for a Strategy & Advisory Principal to join Version 1’s Transformation Design Group (TDG). This is a senior consulting role for someone who can build trusted relationships with client leaders, navigate ambiguity and shape user-centred digital and business transformation that delivers meaningful outcomes.

You will work across client advisory, complex problem-solving, proposition development and consultative pre-sales. The role combines big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery: you may be helping a leadership team define its transformation vision, unblocking a difficult programme, coaching a multidisciplinary team, or shaping the next opportunity with colleagues across Version 1.

What you will do

  • Advise and deliver for clients
    • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders in the public and private sectors, acting as a credible advisor and constructive critical friend.
    • Bring structure and clarity to complex, ambiguous business problems, connecting strategy to practical execution.
    • Shape and lead advisory engagements and consultancy work packages, drawing on the breadth of TDG capabilities and the wider Version 1 organisation.
    • Apply user-centred, evidence-led and commercially aware approaches to transformation, balancing user needs, organisational goals and technical feasibility.
    • Adapt your methods to the client context and help clients understand where emerging technologies, including AI, can create genuine value.
    • Represent our thinking and experience through client conversations, case studies, professional networks, events and thought leadership.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
