Principal Structural Engineer
We're looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our team based in Liverpool/Birmingham/Wymondham within the construction sector. Kier Design are a highly regarded Design Consultancy, with a 750 plus strong design team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.

Hours
40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Are you…
- A Chartered Engineer (CEng) with professional membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers
- Experienced in structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design to current European Standards for large and multi-storey permanent building structures
- Knowledgeable in CDM Regulations, Building Safety Act, Party Wall Act and UK construction techniques
- Experienced in using structural design software packages such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer Masterseries and Revit Structures
- Holding a Full driving licence
What will you be responsible for?
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you'll be working within the Building Structures team, supporting them in delivering excellent and sustainable Structural Engineering project services to meet client needs. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of large building structures across various sectors including education, defence, retail, blue light, leisure, conservation and commercial projects. You'll be joining a well-established team that values collaboration and innovation, where you'll have the opportunity to lead on major engineering projects whilst supporting and mentoring colleagues. With flexible working arrangements available, this role offers the perfect blend of technical challenge and career development within a supportive and growing team.

Your Day To Day Will Include
- Acting as the lead structural engineer on major and complex building structures projects
- Preparing fee proposals, activity schedules, negotiating appointments, resource planning and risk management
- Mentoring other Structural Engineers and Technicians whilst demonstrating commitment to Continuing Professional Development
- Producing and checking structural design calculations, drawings, models, reports, specifications, and schedules
- Leading structural design at project meetings and supporting consultations with Building Control and statutory authorities for Building Safety Act compliance
