Are you an experienced Structural Engineer looking for a genuine route into senior management or Director level?

We are recruiting for an established, employee-owned civil and structural engineering consultancy with a growing project portfolio across the public and commercial sectors. Due to continued expansion, the business is seeking an Associate or Principal Structural Engineer to join its Leeds office.

This is a senior and influential position offering responsibility for delivering major building structures projects, managing client relationships and developing the engineers and technicians around you. You will join a progressive consultancy where your contribution will directly influence the business—and where equity ownership opportunities allow employees to share in its future success.

The Role

You will lead the structural delivery of building projects from initial concept through to completion, acting as a principal point of contact for clients and coordinating with internal infrastructure and geo-environmental teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading building structures projects with construction values of up to £75 million
  • Producing and reviewing structural designs across steel, concrete, masonry and timber
  • Undertaking 3D modelling and structural analysis for a range of building forms
  • Providing advanced design input for superstructures, substructures and foundations
  • Preparing calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, feasibility studies and technical appraisals
  • Managing project programmes, resources, commercial performance and technical delivery
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Overseeing and developing graduates, engineers and technicians
  • Carrying out site inspections, surveys and technical assessments
  • Resolving complex engineering and construction challenges
  • Supporting fee proposals, networking activities and wider business development
  • Representing and promoting the consultancy to clients and industry contacts
  • Travelling to project sites throughout the UK when required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
