Raytheon UK has an excellent opportunity for a Principal Subcontracts Specialist to join our team in Gloucester or Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity for a SCM & Subcontracts specialist to drive execution and innovative commercial solutions across existing and new business requirements in Cyber & Intelligence and Space & ISR. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Contracts & Subcontracts, you will influence mission-critical outcomes while collaborating with cross-functional teams at the forefront of national security.

Our teams here provide DevSecOps at scale, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, cyber and geospatial intelligence capabilities to support the defence, intelligence and cyber sectors. Collaborating with customers and suppliers to deliver secure, mission critical systems using the latest technologies and innovations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Subcontractors / Suppliers with moderately sized contracts with autonomy and accountability for delivery, ensuring quality and consistency in execution and alignment with business objectives.
  • Responsible for early subcontractor identification and engagement to support new business pursuits and provide risk and opportunity analysis for early capture
  • Participating in development of supplier Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Management and negotiation of contracts, non-disclosure agreements and terms and conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to align on policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Manage all costs, quality, schedule, financial and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or the product family and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones of the system
  • Works with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve collaborative partnering and strategic relationship management to deliver value for the organisation
  • Apply advanced knowledge of subcontracting practices to evaluate challenges faced by the programme(s)/organisation and the supply chains, taking action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities, as well as solving complex problems across multiple work areas.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience negotiating commercial and subcontract agreements in Defence or Cyber sectors.
  • Degree in business or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong communicator with a proactive, adaptable mindset.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to translate programme data into actionable insights.
  • Track record of driving performance and solving complex problems.
  • Skilled in managing supplier and subcontractor relationships.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Focused on outcomes, delivery, and operational excellence.
  • Exposure to international suppliers and collaborative delivery models.
  • Knowledge of Teaming Agreements and strategic partnerships.
