About the Role
Are you an ambitious Supply Chain & Subcontracts Specialist with experience in defence or cyber procurement? This leadership role invites you to shape mission-critical outcomes by overseeing subcontract execution, supplier negotiations, and strategic contract delivery.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Contracts & Subcontracts—within Cyber, Intelligence, or Space & ISR—you’ll:
- Work with larger-scale contracts requiring autonomy and accountability.
- Collaborate across functional teams on high-stakes national security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Subcontract Management
- Oversee suppliers/subcontractors with large contracts, ensuring alignment with business and programme objectives.
- Develop, review, and execute Supplement/correction contracts (price changes, additions, deletions).
- Lead cost/price analysis and financial reviews of subcontracting proposals.
- Lead contractor performance oversight, including progress reporting, assessments, and corrective action plans.

Commercial & Relationship Driven
- Negotiate contracts, NDAs, and terms with external and sub-tier suppliers, ensuring delivery against cost, schedule, and performance expectations.
- Lead stakeholder engagement on propositioning, bid support, and business development activities.
- Manage Company Contract Review Boards (CCRBs) with senior officials, exercising authority on sign-off.
- Represent Raytheon at CARAT, VASI, and Integrated Programme Teams, bridging gaps between technical, logistics, and finance stakeholders.
Strategic Engagement & Growth
- Identify and engage potential early-stage subcontractors for new program pursuits.
- Define teaming arrangements and strategic partnerships, particularly with international suppliers.
- Partner with Capital Approval Boards and run contractor performance assessments.
- Influence system-level programmes, focusing on risk management and opportunity capture.
- Report financial performance at CCRB/BAFL meetings, aligning with Godiva Financial Reporting (GvBF) standards.
⚖️Requirements & Skills
Essential qualifications and experience
- Proven Defence or Cyber sector experience in contract and subcontract management, ideally within UK MoD programmes.
- Strong negotiation skills, with expertise in FY2024/25 defence acquisition preferred.
- Proven ability to drive performance and resolve complex issues.
- Degree in business or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proactive mindset with excellent communication, adaptability, and resilience.
Desirable plus factors
- AeC (now BAE) or Royal Navy/Fleet support operations experience beneficial.
- Familiarity with Team Agreements, MoD Framework Contracts, or Cloud MQ/Framework HQ.
- L&D accreditation (e.g., CIPS, Corporate Career Framework).
- Knowledge of multi-tier structures, AIP2014 frameworks, and programme finance.
- Relevant military/corporate backgrounds (e.g., Army/Corps competitively focused, high tempo).
- NG personnel considered.
