Location: Home-based with UK travel as required

Role Overview
You should share our passion in solving domestic property subsidence issues with the highest technical standard. This role covers all aspects of Engineering for our residential subsidence repair business. It is hands-on in all aspects, so if you are looking for a cushy director’s job to delegate your responsibilities, this is not for you.
Key tasks include:
- Accurately diagnosing subsidence properties both structurally and geotechnically
- Creating technically correct treatment plans
- Feasibility of schemes
- Design, design checking
- Quality assurance of all residential designs
- Quote quality checking and advising the operations department on engineering matters

Key Responsibilities
- Visiting properties online (80%)
- Visiting properties in person (20%)
- Diagnosing properties
- Creating designs
- Technical support of Area Managers
- Training of Area Managers
- Proactive customer work to educate the market
- Developing feasibility schemes
- Designing a suitable repair for buildings that have suffered from subsidence
- Checking of internal design in accordance with in house design guidelines
- Checking the quality of quotations in lines with in house quoting guidelines
- Signing off Certificates of Structural Adequacy.
- Overseas support during holiday periods
- Working with operations to learn how designs perform on site
- Supervising retreatment works on site
- Customer facing meetings (CPDs, account reviews)
- Development of design procedures and design tools
- Supporting Head of Social Housing and Head of New insurance business in business development
KPIs
- Engineering ticket SLA (24 hrs)
- QA check SLA (24 hours)
Qualifications
- Educated to degree standard in Civil & Structural Engineering, MEng / MSc (Eng) and Geotechnical Engineering MEng / MSc
- A track record of designing geotechnical solutions, preferably in domestic subsidence space
- IT skills across multiple platforms - Google Suite/MS Office/Salesforce/Plaxis
- Experience in retaining wall analysis and design.
- Member of ICE / IStructE
Experience
- 10 years minimum
- Variety of project sizes and complexities (all causations of subsidence)
- Ideally coming from a contracting and / or consulting business and / or loss adjusting and / or building control with experience in building / foundation engineering and repair.
- This role requires someone who is used to dealing with multiple tasks at a time with strong ICT skills, preferably Salesforce.
- Experience of dealing directly with both customers and internal stakeholders. You will have a good knowledge of building techniques and design.

- Ability to deliver designs within 24 hour SLA
- Passion for subsidence in domestic properties and technical excellence.
- Strong team player and excellent communicator.
- Operates with high integrity, is resilient and takes ownership of their objectives. This person should be knowledgeable, highly organized, dynamic and flexible in their approach and should be of a strong character and have the ability to challenge performance and be challenged.
- Hands-on individual who is used to working in a fast paced changing environment. Someone who can work under pressure, solve problems and is a good team player.
- Ability to work with speed to issue design and QA approvals
- Ability and willingness to carry out virtual inspections of residential dwellings to diagnose the problem
