Role Overview
The Microsoft 365 Architect at Finastra is a senior, hands-on engineering and operations role responsible for the design and day-to-day management of the global Microsoft 365 environment. This role combines strategic platform architecture with practical administration and L3/L4 support, ensuring services are secure, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design: Define and evolve architecture for M365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
- Governance & Compliance: Establish tenant-wide policies for data protection, retention, and regulatory compliance.
- Platform Administration & Monitoring: Administer and troubleshoot M365 services to ensure performance and availability.
- Incident Management & Escalation: Act as SME and escalation point for complex issues, performing root cause analysis.
- Migrations & Projects: Lead tenant-to-tenant migrations and coordinate global delivery.
- Automation & Tooling: Develop PowerShell automation and improve reporting and efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain runbooks and documentation for operational consistency.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work with global stakeholders and provide technical leadership.

Required Technical Skills
- Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Strong knowledge of Entra ID, identity, authentication, and compliance features.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Experience leading large-scale M365 migrations.
- Understanding of governance and change management processes.
- Experience with Intune and endpoint management.
Desirable Skills
- Microsoft certifications such as Enterprise Administrator Expert.
- Experience using migration tools like Quest or ShareGate.
- Knowledge of hybrid environments and Zero Trust models.
- Exposure to Graph API or other scripting languages.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven, demonstrable IT experience with strong M365 engineering background.
- Experience working in global enterprise environments in similar roles.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience.
