Job Description

Are you an experienced Mission Data Programmer looking to advance your career within Electronic Warfare?

Leonardo has an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Principal Systems Engineer to join our Integrated Mission Solutions team at our modern Lincoln site. You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering Defensive Aid Mission Data—critical to enhancing aircraft survivability within the defence sector.

You’ll lead full lifecycle systems engineering activities, from requirements elicitation and detailed design through to test, verification, and acceptance. Working within an Agile development framework, you’ll collaborate closely with end-users and stakeholders to ensure mission data solutions meet complex operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply systems engineering best practices across the full lifecycle.
  • Interpret radar emitter data and collaborate with EW specialists to refine requirements.
  • Support MDS production, verification, and validation to demonstrate compliance.
  • Produce technical documentation and present at engineering gate reviews.
  • Act as a focal point for MDS process adherence and team development.
  • Travel occasionally in the UK and overseas to engage with customers and partners.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience in Operational MDS design and development.
  • Strong understanding of Electronic Warfare Operational Support (EWOS) and RF signal propagation.
  • Proven knowledge of passive/active EW sensor systems and emitter identification methods.
  • Experience conducting engineering gate reviews and producing traceable test evidence.
  • Familiarity with JEWOSC/MSC tool sets, data, and processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
