Principal Systems Engineer (E2E Technical Coordination)

Location: Portsmouth or Stevenage (minimum 3 days onsite)
Type: Permanent / Contract
Security Clearance: Eligible for UK Security Clearance

About the Role

KDC Projects is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to provide End-to-End (E2E) Technical Coordination across a complex system development programme. Working closely with the E2E Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring technical coherence across multiple subsystems, disciplines, and stakeholders, supporting the successful delivery of system engineering, validation, verification, and qualification activities.

This is a technically focused leadership role requiring strong systems engineering expertise, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to coordinate activities across the full system lifecycle. You will work within an established programme, maintaining and evolving existing system engineering artefacts rather than developing them from first principles.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Engineering

  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end system engineering activities across multiple subsystems and work packages.
  • Develop, maintain, and mature Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation.
  • Manage user and mission requirements, including requirements derivation and flow-down.
  • Maintain system engineering documentation and engineering management artefacts.
  • Support the development and maturation of system and subsystem functional architectures.
  • Coordinate performance, functional, and security requirement analysis.
  • Ensure consistency across operational, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Coordinate technical activities across internal teams, customers, and partner organisations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
