Role: Principal Systems Engineer
Location: Southwest London
Job Type: Full time, Hybrid, Permanent
We're working with a leading defence engineering organisation seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering complex, mission-critical programmes.
This role offers the opportunity to lead systems engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, working on innovative defence solutions within a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities from requirements through to integration and acceptance.
- Produce and review technical documentation and support design reviews.
- Work closely with software, hardware, safety and cyber teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Manage technical input from suppliers and support risk, bid and estimation activities.
- Provide technical leadership across engineering work packages.

About You
- Experience in systems engineering within a highly regulated industry i.e. defence/aerospace etc.
- Knowledge of requirements management, systems integration and verification.
- Experience with DOORS and Enterprise Architect (or similar MBSE tools).
- Understanding of PLC/SCADA or operational technology is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
