Job Title: SC Cleared Principal Test Development Engineer
Location: Ashford
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Rate: Up to £500 per day via an approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC clearance process
Join a team designing and evolving automated test capability that helps deliver realistic weapons test and operator training worldwide. This is a hands-on Principal Test Development Engineer role where you'll lead technical direction, mentor others, and stay close to complex electronic and software-based test solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintain and enhance existing NI-based Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems
- Lead the design, development and verification of automated test solutions using TestStand, LabVIEW and FlexStand
- Design test fixtures and commission new test capability for products and subsystems
- Work with engineering teams to embed Design for Test (DFT) principles into new product development
- Provide technical leadership within your specialist test engineering discipline
- Mentor and support engineers, helping raise capability across the test function
- Develop documentation, processes and future test strategies to support production and new product introduction

What You'll Bring
- Strong hands-on experience with TestStand and automated functional test systems
- Experience developing solutions using LabVIEW
- Proven background in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) design, support or test development
- Electronics engineering knowledge, including the ability to understand schematics
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators and data acquisition equipment
