➡️ As our Principal Topographic / Land Surveyor in Birmingham, you'll do more than deliver surveys. You'll spearhead the capability that helps major projects move forward with confidence, providing the critical data and insight that clients rely on to make informed judgements.
➡️ From transport and utilities to complex infrastructure programmes, you'll combine technical expertise, client engagement and team management to drive successful project outcomes. You'll be the go-to expert, helping shape solutions, influencing project strategy and growing our surveying and reality capture presence across the region.

About The Opportunity
Our Geospatial Engineering, Surveying and Reality Capture team is growing, and we're looking for a Principal Surveyor to help drive the next phase of our success.
You'll lead our Birmingham-based surveying capability, combining hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, project delivery and client relationship management.
No two days will look the same. You could be running site surveys, advising clients on the best geospatial solutions, mentoring survey teams, reviewing project specifications or helping secure exciting new opportunities.
You'll be responsible for
- Leading and developing our Surveying and Reality Capture capability in Birmingham
- Managing and delivering a wide range of survey projects
- Building strong relationships with clients and project teams
- Providing technical oversight and maintaining high-quality standards
- Advising on survey methodologies, technologies and data solutions
- Supporting business growth and identifying new opportunities
- Mentoring and developing survey professionals within the team
You'll work alongside talented engineers, designers, project managers and digital specialists, contributing to projects that improve communities, strengthen infrastructure and support future growth.
Here's what you'll need
- Extensive experience in land surveying, geomatics and reality capture
- Proven ability to deliver topographical and laser scanning surveys
- Strong knowledge of point cloud registration and 3D data workflows
- Experience planning, managing and reviewing survey projects
- Proficiency with industry-standard survey processing software
- Excellent client-facing and team leadership skills
- Qualification in Land Surveying, Geomatics or a related discipline
- Professional membership of a relevant Chartered Institution
- A full UK driving licence
