The Space Rangers team are recruiting a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) Principal UI Engineer to join a London based Game Studio! Location: UK Remote OR London, Bromley (on-site)

The Role

Space Rangers is partnering with a AAA game development studio to recruit a Principal UI Engineer who are the technical authority for user interface engineering across the studio. They set the standard for how we architect and build performant, robust, data-driven interfaces at scale.

They define the long-term technical vision for UI engineering, establishing the frameworks, patterns, and best practices that our teams build upon across multiple projects. Drawing on deep implementation experience, they take on our hardest technical challenges, evaluate emerging tools and technologies, and make the architectural decisions that keep our interfaces reusable and future-proof. They remain hands-on, prototyping solutions and setting the bar for engineering quality by example.

We trust our Principal UI Engineers with a high degree of autonomy and influence, and they put the long-term health of our technology and teams first. They partner with Lead UI Engineers and project leadership to align technical direction across teams, and they mentor engineers at every level to raise the capability of the whole discipline. They represent UI engineering at the studio level and act as a trusted technical voice with external partners, platform holders, and engine vendors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
