About this opportunity

This role is being recruited by Calyptus on behalf of one of our clients.

Calyptus is a specialist recruitment partner helping startups and high-growth technology companies hire across engineering, product and design.

What to expect

  • We’ll review your application and, if your experience is a strong match, one of our team will be in touch
  • We’ll support you throughout the interview process and keep you updated at each stage
  • If this particular role isn’t the right fit, we may consider you for other relevant opportunities with our clients

We're hiring our Principal UX/UI Designer

We're hiring our Principal UX/UI Designer to own the craft bar for our mobile experience. We already have design that converts. What we don't yet have is design that makes people feel something — the kind of native, delightful, obviously-considered experience that earns a consumer's trust in the first thirty seconds and makes them willing to pay. That's what this hire is for.

This is a mobile role, and specifically an iOS role. If you think in native patterns, obsess over motion and materials, and have opinions about what Apple shipped last month, you'll recognise the job immediately. You'll work closely with our Head of Engineering and directly with the CEO. It's a small team, so the scope is real: you're setting the visual and interaction language for the whole product, not decorating someone else's.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end design vision across Jenny's core pillars — home inventory, services, and projects
  • Design onboarding flows that are genuinely creative and convert — the highest-leverage surface we have
  • Push the craft bar on native iOS: current Apple design language, latest native elements and materials, motion that feels intentional
  • Build and maintain the design system in Figma — components, auto layout, variables and tokens, prototyping
  • Get close to our users and design for how they actually live, not for a persona doc
  • Partner with engineering so what ships matches what was designed
  • Hold accessibility standards (WCAG) across everything

What we're looking for

  • Deep iOS design experience. You've designed and launched consumer iOS apps from 0→1, more than once
  • A B2C portfolio. Consumer products people chose to download and kept using
  • Onboarding as a craft. Show us flows you designed that were creative, not templated — and what they did to activation
  • Current on native. You know what's new in Apple's design language and you've used it
  • Product instinct for the user. You can read an ICP and design for that person
  • Deep Figma proficiency — component libraries, auto layout, variables/tokens, prototyping
  • Comfort in a distributed team across US and European time zones
