About Us

Kiloh Associates is a leading civil engineering and construction design consultancy delivering high-quality temporary works and structural solutions across the UK. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team to support our expanding portfolio of work.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Water Resource Specialist to join our growing environmental team at Kiloh Associates. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong professional who is looking to take a leading role in delivering high-quality environmental/engineering consultancy across a diverse portfolio of projects.

You will work with clients, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams, providing expert advice on a range of hydrology, hydrogeology, and water environment issues. The role will involve a combination of technical delivery, project management, client development, and mentoring of less experienced colleagues.

Our projects span sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, development, utilities, and natural capital, providing the opportunity to work on varied and challenging environmental projects throughout Scotland and the wider UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of hydrology and/or hydrogeology assessments for a range of environmental and development projects.
  • Provide technical input into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), planning applications, environmental reports, regulatory submissions.
  • Design and oversee field investigations, site surveys, monitoring programmes, and data collection.
  • Assess potential impacts on surface water, groundwater, watercourses, wetlands, and other water-dependent receptors.
  • Develop and review technical reports, assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide expert technical advice to clients and project teams.
  • Manage projects, budgets, programmes, and technical deliverables.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, regulators, landowners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support business development through preparation of proposals, fee estimates, and technical approaches.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new and existing client relationships.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior and intermediate consultants.
  • Contribute to the continued development of our hydrology and hydrogeology services.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
