Job Overview
This is a great time to join our people services team. We are looking for someone who loves data and can bring it to life! Capable of analysing complex information, providing insights which help turn insight into action.
We’re reviewing our systems, aligning data and changing how we use workforce intelligence to support decision-making. This is your opportunity to be part of that change.
You Will
- Produce information from a variety of systems and turn complex workforce data into clear insight, trends and compelling narrative
- Challenge existing approaches and help develop smarter ways of working.
- Improve data quality and how our workforce systems work together.
- Work closely with IT, Data, Finance, Transformation and other teams, giving you fantastic exposure across the organisation.
- Manage workforce reporting for the Board, Committees and Groups, as well as national workforce data returns.
- Use a range of systems including Access HR, ESR, OLM, EASY Pay, Trac and e-rostering.
- Lead and develop a workforce data and systems team.
If you’re someone who enjoys asking “what does the data really tell us?”, likes to bring new ideas and turn insight into action, this is an opportunity to make your mark and help shape what workforce information looks like for the future.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the quality of information held on workforce information systems that will be used to provide the workforce reporting needs. Maintaining and updating systems as required. Ensuring action is taken to improve and maintain data accuracy.
The role is responsible for the day-to-day management (recruitment, appraisal, discipline, performance and absence management) of the workforce team and other team members as required.
The postholder will need highly developed specialist theoretical knowledge and practical experience in undertaking data analysis with both quantitative and qualitative data. The analysis will involve highly complex, sensitive or contentious datasets, potentially conflicting and incomplete data or where expert opinion may differ and will require the creative application of techniques and approaches for which no precedent exists.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
