Ready to take the next step in your arboricultural career?

We’re looking for an experienced and ambitious Arboricultural Consultant to join our growing multidisciplinary team and take a leading role in developing our arboricultural consultancy services.

This is more than a surveying role. It’s an opportunity to shape and grow an arboricultural service, build strong client relationships, work on exciting development projects and help develop the next generation of arboricultural professionals.

You’ll work alongside experienced ecologists, GIS specialists, planners, architects and other environmental professionals, giving you the opportunity to contribute to projects from initial concept and planning through to construction.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and developing our arboricultural consultancy services.
  • Preparing tenders, fee proposals and scopes of work.
  • Undertaking and overseeing tree and hedgerow surveys and baseline condition assessments.
  • Preparing and reviewing Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIAs) and Arboricultural Method Statements (AMSs).
  • Providing specialist arboricultural advice at pre-planning, design and planning application stages.
  • Advising design teams on the implementation of BS 5837:2012 – Trees in Relation to Design, Demolition and Construction.
  • Providing advice on Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and UK planning legislation.
  • Advising clients on felling licences and preparing tree, woodland and forestry management plans.
  • Undertaking site monitoring, inspections and supervision of arboricultural works.
  • Building strong working relationships with clients, Local Authority tree officers, planners, architects, ecologists and other professionals.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop and grow our arboricultural services and client base.
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing junior arboricultural staff.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
