Principal Software Engineer
London | Hybrid | Competitive Salary + Equity
A next-generation technology platform bringing together AI, data, software and complex real-world systems — and we're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join the product team and help build it from the ground up.
This is a role for someone who wants serious ownership and still wants to be hands-on. You'll be working directly on the product, making architectural decisions, solving difficult technical problems and helping shape how the platform is built as the company grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
There’s no rigid roadmap or layers of management. You'll have the freedom to build, experiment, learn new technologies and move quickly — taking ideas from concept through to production. You'll work across the stack depending on what the problem requires, with plenty of scope to get involved in AI, data, backend systems and complex technical challenges.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is a genuinely strong software engineer with experience operating at a senior/principal level
- Still loves being hands-on and building
- Has strong fundamentals in Python, C++, Java, Rust, TypeScript or JavaScript
- Enjoys working in ambiguity and figuring things out from first principles
- Wants to have a meaningful influence on both the product and engineering direction
