Creative Artworker + Packaging Tech

As a Creative Artworker + Packaging Tech, you will play a vital role in supporting our product development and creative teams, helping to maintain the core visual brand identity, drive innovation in design where appropriate, implement and run artworking processes, and bring knowledge of packaging construction, material specifications, and sustainability measures and improvements to the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partnering with Creative and Marketing teams to interpret briefs and deliver effective creative solutions.
  • Collaborating with market leads and retail teams to support product launches.
  • May be required to work with regional teams to support global campaign rollouts.
  • Engaging external agencies, photographers, stylists, and production partners where/when relevant.
  • Clear communication and the ability to translate creative thinking into practical execution are important aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage the correct formatting and laying of all artworks, adhering to brand design rules and regulatory needs for both NPD and updating existing products when needed (e.g., for regulatory changes), including ownership of artwork approval system, version control, specifications, and cutter guides ensuring artworks are accurate, compliant, and ready for sign-off.
  • Ownership of proofing and pre-press checks, reviewing physical packaging and print samples, flagging any production issues, and supporting quality control to ensure the finished result reflects approved creative, product information, and adheres to brand guidelines and standards.
  • Help to maintain creative templates, asset libraries, and production workflows, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage multiple briefs while maintaining quality, consistency, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • To develop creative concepts and visuals for briefs given by the Head of Product and/or Creative Director for new ideas that may include but not limited to; festive gift sets, travel sets and gifts, new franchises or products, and merch items that adhere to brand visual identity.
  • Develop and maintain packaging specification sheets and information for each pack type and product, alongside the Regulatory + Technical Manager, including maintaining information needed for PPWR or any other compliance needs, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • To maintain brand design rules and guidelines alongside the Creative Director.
  • Conduct market research to identify new product opportunities and trends in design and packaging.
  • Work with the product team to help manage critical paths and ensure work is delivered on time, in-full.
  • Assist with ad-hoc design work of assets for the brand including for printed posters, banners, or any other visual merchandising material.
  • To brief and manage costings to within target on gift set packaging, setting specifications with suppliers, and ensuring premium functionality and design.
  • Drive sustainable packaging improvements through material selection and redesign alongside the product team.
  • Manage product packshots from brief to final asset delivery, including sample coordination, shoot preparation, retouching feedback, file naming, and asset organization.
  • Support with creating labels and documentation needed for operational purposes.
  • Support the team with other ad-hoc product and brand work as assigned.

Previous Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum 3+ years experience, ideally within luxury beauty, fashion, or lifestyle.
  • Thorough design technical knowledge (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, etc…), particularly with experience in product artworking. Working knowledge of Figma also desirable.
  • Flair for design, innovative and creative thinking with a passion for trends in fashion, lifestyle, and beauty.
  • Experience in creative 3D Mock-ups or renders either through AI applications, Photoshop, or other tools.
  • Knowledge of creating print-ready files, printing processes, packaging materials, and construction, particularly with regards to gift sets and boxes. Ability to design and construct cutter guides desirable but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of beauty packaging regulatory requirements desirable.
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  • Excellent understanding of print and digital production, including color management.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong self-initiative.
  • Ability to work efficiently and understand priorities, working to a critical path. Experience of project management software, e.g., Asana, is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellent execution of your work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.
