Print and Proofing Technician

Role Overview

Graphic Brands, part of the Reflex Labels Group, is seeking a Packaging Artwork & Print Production Technician to support the creation of high-quality packaging mock-ups, pre-press artwork, screen printing, and prototype production. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and technically minded individual to work within an innovative packaging environment, producing customer-facing packaging samples and supporting a range of print and finishing processes.

The role offers development opportunities in advanced packaging technologies, including CAD design, 3D printing, and 3D visualisation.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create packaging mock-ups using digital proofing systems, including advanced print embellishments and finishing effects.
  • Produce accurate, print-ready artwork files for commercial production.
  • Create and amend CAD keylines for packaging projects.
  • Support packaging development and CAD-related processes.
  • Ensure artwork meets customer specifications and production requirements.
  • Work closely with internal teams to deliver projects on time and to the highest standards.
  • Prepare screens by coating mesh with emulsion, exposing designs using UV light units, and washing out stencils.
  • Set up, align, and operate manual and automatic screen-printing presses.
  • Operate conveyor dryers and related print equipment.
  • Match, mix, and prepare inks to precise colour specifications.
  • Monitor print quality throughout production runs, identifying and correcting defects where required.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised production area.
  • Support 3D printing activities for packaging prototypes and customer samples.
  • Carry out shrink sleeve application and testing.
  • Assist with the production of presentation-quality packaging samples and mock-ups.
  • Clean and reclaim screens following production.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of presses and equipment.
  • Safely handle inks, chemicals, and waste materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Post finishing 3D printed parts where required and hand painting where needed
  • Spray painting 3D printed parts using spray booth

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Understanding of artwork preparation and print production processes.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience creating CAD keylines within a packaging environment. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of screen-printing processes. (Desirable)
  • Experience with packaging mock-up production. (Desirable)
  • Exposure to 3D printing or 3D visualisation software. (Desirable)
  • Understanding of packaging materials, labels, sleeves, and print finishing techniques. (Desirable)
