Job Summary
The Printer Assistant supports the printing department by assisting with the setup, operation, and maintenance of printing equipment. The role involves preparing materials, monitoring print quality, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring production schedules are met safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist printers/operators with machine setup and changeovers.
- Load paper, labels, films, inks, and other production materials.
- Monitor printing processes to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Inspect printed products for defects and report issues to the printer/operator.
- Help clean, maintain, and troubleshoot printing equipment.
- Remove finished products from machines and prepare them for the next production stage.
- Record production data and complete required documentation.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the production area.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Support continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Basic understanding of manufacturing or printing processes.
- Good attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Physically capable of lifting materials and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a printing, packaging, or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of printing equipment and quality control procedures.
Working Conditions
- Shift work is required, including nights and weekends.
- Standing for long periods and manual handling of materials.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

- Adherence to safety procedures.
- Attendance and reliability.
