The role:

We're looking for an experienced Print Shift Manager to complete our Print leadership team. We already have three strong Print Shift Managers in place and are now searching for the final piece of the puzzle. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established, supportive and high-performing management team while bringing your own experience, ideas and leadership style to the role.

Working closely with fellow Shift Managers and the wider leadership team, you'll play a key role in developing people, improving performance and driving operational excellence across the print department. On nights, you'll also become one of the most senior operational leaders on site, trusted to make decisions, support multiple departments and ensure the operation runs smoothly.

What you'll be doing:

  • Taking ownership of shift performance across our flexographic presses
  • Leading, coaching and developing print teams to achieve quality, output and efficiency targets
  • Driving a right-first-time culture focused on quality, waste reduction and continuous improvement
  • Monitoring and improving KPIs including OEE, waste, downtime and labour efficiency
  • Ensuring customer specifications, print quality and colour consistency are achieved
  • Managing staffing, shift handovers and press resource planning
  • Working collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Planning and Warehouse teams
  • Supporting improvement initiatives that enhance performance, efficiency and employee engagement

During night shifts, you'll also:

  • Act as the key operational leadership contact across site
  • Provide direction, support and decision-making across departments including Print, Warehouse and Conversion
  • Ensure health & safety, environmental and quality standards are maintained
  • Lead performance management, coaching and development conversations
  • Deliver shift briefs, toolbox talks and engagement activities
  • Help drive a positive, accountable and high-performing workplace culture

Shift pattern:

4-week rotating pattern covering days and nights

  • Weeks 1 & 2: Days
  • Weeks 3 & 4: Nights Alternating working pattern of 5 days on followed by 2 days off (with some variation across the cycle)

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in a print, packaging or FMCG manufacturing leadership role
  • Strong technical knowledge of flexographic printing processes
  • Proven ability to drive performance and continuous improvement
  • Experience leading teams and developing people
  • Confidence to make decisions and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Good knowledge of health & safety, quality systems and manufacturing best practice
  • IOSH qualification desirable
