Contract PCB Layout Engineer – Hybrid (Bristol)

We're looking for a Contract PCB Layout Engineer to support the development of advanced sensing and instrumentation products within an innovative engineering environment.

This is a hands-on role focused on PCB layout for complex electronic products, working closely with electronics engineers to translate schematics into high-quality, manufacture-ready designs. You'll take ownership of PCB layout activities, contributing to both new product development and the improvement of existing designs.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong commercial PCB layout experience
  • Proficient with Altium Designer
  • Experience designing complex multilayer PCBs (8–12 layers)
  • Good understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
  • Experience managing component placement, routing, stack-ups, and manufacturing outputs
  • Able to work independently and confidently pick up existing designs

Desirable:

  • Experience with sensors, instrumentation, wireless, or industrial electronic products
  • Understanding of signal integrity, EMC, grounding, and power distribution
  • Experience supporting products within industrial or safety-critical environments
  • Practical, cost-conscious approach to PCB design and optimisation
