About the Company
China Print Supplies UK Ltd is a growing UK supplier of industrial UV printers, cutting tables, plotters, and digital print equipment. We specialise in supplying and supporting advanced print technology for sign makers, print companies, exhibition businesses, manufacturers, and commercial print providers across the UK.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on, technically minded Installation & Training Engineer to install large format print equipment across the UK and deliver professional customer training and support. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who enjoys travelling, problem solving, working with technology, and helping customers get the very best from their equipment.
Job Details
- Location: Based near Oswestry, Shropshire, with travel to customer sites across the UK
- Salary: £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience; higher salary considered for an exceptional candidate
- Job type: Full-time, permanent
- Hours: 40 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday, with flexibility for travel and installations
Responsibilities
- Installing, commissioning and testing printers at customer premises, including checking site readiness before installation.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, electronic and ink-delivery faults.
- Carrying out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and print-quality troubleshooting.
- Replacing and setting up components such as printheads, pumps, dampers, sensors and other service parts.
- Configuring printer software and connections, carrying out calibration and completing test prints.
- Training customers in machine operation, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Providing technical support by telephone, email and video, arranging site visits where required.
- Working with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues and identify the correct parts.
- Maintaining clear installation and service reports, parts records and customer updates.
- Preparing and maintaining showroom and demonstration equipment.
- Following safe working procedures and checking equipment operates correctly before handing it back to the customer.

Requirements
- Proven experience installing, servicing or repairing digital printing equipment, ideally UV or wide-format printers.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Confidence working independently and knowing when to seek further technical support.
- Familiarity with inkjet systems, printhead maintenance, calibration and print-quality issues.
- Good IT skills, including printer software, RIP software and basic networking.
- Clear, professional communication and a helpful approach to customer support.
- Good organisation, accurate record keeping and the ability to prioritise service work.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
- An electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering qualification would be beneficial, although relevant practical experience is equally valuable. Experience with DTF, UV DTF, eco-solvent printers or digital cutting equipment would also be useful.
